Anecdote

"When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations‎, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker a raving lunatic."

Maximal Wi-Fi signal and damage in trees

"Ash trees near Wi-Fi access points showed “an increasing number of damage such as cracks, bumps, discoloration and various forms of tissue necrosis” over recent years.

In seeking to determine whether this damage was caused by Wi-Fi networks, the researchers examined trees near known Wi-Fi access points during a three-month period.

During this period, leaves within 50 to 300 centimeters of a 100 milliwatt, 2412-2472 megahertz radiation source showed “a metallic luster appearance, a discoloration of the leaves that appeared to result in the disappearance of the outer cell layer of the leaves. The metallic luster was followed by desiccation and death of a portion of the leaf.”

Our Nature-section has more 2450 MHz Pulsed signal papers available:

Please, take a look.

P.S. the Dutch researchers were using the maximum allowable output power of Wi-Fi in their experiment. So, results apply to city, home and school Wi-Fi-installations as well. BUT, we don't know how Wi-Fi speeds up or slows down growth in human cells. There is more and more evidence that proteins in human skin react to pulsed signal.

An Extensive Review of Biological Effects from ICEMS

"The point is, protection against non ionizing radiation, based on parameters adopted by international standards organizations, seems not to be adequate, despite the statement of Ms Van Deventer, nor able to protect people and workers. This is convincingly shown in the paper by Devra Davis, Om Ghandi and colleagues in this monograph."
....

"For instance, in the aqueous solution of the Zhadin experiment, we witnesss an ion
current peak - that can be detected in the order of 10-100 nA - when we apply a suitable
combination of DC-AC magnetic fields. But the AC field is very weak: in the order of
10nT! And the DC field is like the geomagnetic one: there is no transfer of energy able
to induce an alteration in the system temperature. It is not only a non thermal effect; it
is an athermal effect!"

Interesting cell tower literature review by Lai and Levitt

"Biological effects from exposure to electromagnetic radiation emitted by cell tower base stations and other antenna arrays". Written by Henry Lai and Blake Levitt.

The full paper can be read/downloaded at:

http://www.scribd.com/doc/54548018

At the end of the paper is the historical, Cold War U.S Embassy case analysed. Lai and Levitt write:"Symptoms reported today may be classic microwave sickness, first described in 1978". Perhaps new/surprising to you?

Stricter installation guidelines for base stations in India

'The guidelines have also specified that base station antennae should be at least three metres away from nearby buildings and should not directly face the building. The lower end of the antenna should be three meters above the ground or the roof. ' Hindustan Times, September 2nd 2010.

The Master Epidemiologist Writes about Radar - from 1997

Professor John R. Goldsmith showed the genotoxic potential of radar installations in his old, but highly relevant paper:

"Epidemiologic Evidence Relevant
to Radar (Microwave) Effects. Environmental Health Perspectives , Vol. 105, Supplement 6, December 1997."

Talking about environment: Why there are more and more weather radar installations and no public discussion about risks? Climate research with microwaves that speeds up climate change?

Khurana et al. (2010) Epidemiological Evidence for a Health Risk from Mobile Phone Base Stations. A new journal paper.

Abstract

"Human populations are increasingly exposed to microwave/radiofrequency (RF) emissions from wireless communication technology, including mobile phones and their base stations. By searching PubMed, we identified a total of 10 epidemiological studies that assessed for putative health effects of mobile phone base stations. Seven of these studies explored the association between base station proximity and neurobehavioral effects and three investigated cancer. We found that eight of the 10 studies reported increased prevalence of adverse neurobehavioral symptoms or cancer in populations living at distances < 500 meters from base stations. None of the studies reported exposure above accepted international guidelines, suggesting that current guidelines may be inadequate in protecting the health of human populations. We believe that comprehensive epidemiological studies of longterm mobile phone base station exposure are urgently required to more definitively understand its health impact."

From page 266:

"The BioInitiative Report provided detailed scientific information on health impacts when people were exposed to electromagnetic radiation hundreds or even thousands of times below limits currently established by the FCC and International Commission for Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection in Europe (ICNIRP). The authors reviewed more than 2000 scientific studies and reviews, and have concluded that: (1) the existing public safety limits are inadequate to protect public health; and (2) from a public health policy standpoint, new public safety limits and limits on further deployment of risky technologies are warranted based on the total weight of evidence. A precautionary limit of 1 mW/m2 (0.1 microW/cm2 or 0.614 V/m) was suggested in Section 17 of the BioInitiative Report to be adopted for outdoor, cumulative RF exposure. This limit is a cautious approximation based on the results of several human RF-EMF studies in which no substantial adverse effects on well being were found at low exposures akin to power densities of less than 0.5 – 1 mW/m2.2,5,22–26 RF-EMF exposure at distances > 500 m from the types of mobile phone base stations reviewed herein should fall below the precautionary limit of 0.614 V/m."

European Parliament: No Base Stations Close To Schools + BRAG Antenna Ranking in USA

Antennas, mobile phone masts and other electromagnetic emitting devices should be set within a specific distance from schools and health institutions, according to a report adopted by the European Parliament. The Commission should make more reliable information available about the effects of exposure to electromagnetic fields to citizens who feel that they are not well informed. The report was adopted with 559 votes in favour, 22 against and 8 abstentions."

See also the previous report of EU (items 21-3).

In USA and Canada there is also healthy discussion about schools:

Chronic Exposure - New service about base stations and health risks

Our new service called Chronic Exposure ( http://www.chronicexposure.org ) was launched in June 2010.

This service contains perhaps the most comprehensive literature review about base stations and health effects. And lot's of news and anecdotal evidence.

Welcome!
